The Ranch of the Bear sits just a short way north of the Mexican border at Sasabe in southern Arizona, it is a truly historic property high in the Sonoran Desert. Known for its horseback riding, hiking, hiking, wildlife photography and more. After a day filled with adventure, come back to the ranch for an exceptional dining experience. Travel in the seasons either side of the summer will probably be more comfortable weather-wise.

All the rooms are decorated in the local Mexican style and colours. Here you will be able to stay in a room occupied by U.S. Presidents, Hollywood celebrities such as John Wayne and Tom Mix, famous authors and other dignitaries.

Relaxation in this rustic retreat is the main attraction, their wranglers will match you with a horse appropriate to your experience level and lead you on scenic rides through sandy washes and over rocky terrain, past rock formations and across lush desert grasslands.

There are also UTVs (Utility Task Vehicle) tours, take off on a fat tyre electric mountain bike or, because the property borders the Buenos Aires National Wildlife Refuge, this is a Twitchers paradise.

Trap shooting and archery are on site plus hiking trails towards the famous Baboquivari Mountain. At the end of the day take a relaxing dip in the heated pool.

The aim of the ranch is to provide fresh, hearty and healthy meals. They are passionate about providing tasty selections which highlight southwestern cuisine. Rancho de la Osa is known for authentic dining with ingredients grown in the kitchen garden on site. If you have any special requests, diets or allergies, they will take great care of you.

Ranch stays may begin any day subject to availability, rates include full board, all on ranch activities, taxes, gratuities and airport transfers if you are staying for a week.
