The New Haven Ranch is a small Working ranch situated on the grounds of an old ghost town in North Eastern Wyoming. Both Mount Rushmore A 7-night stay starting on a Saturday is offered from mid-May to mid-October. Rates will include full board, activities and gratuities.
The ranch does not charge extra for single travellers. A locally paid transfer from Rapid City is offered.
The ranch provides timbered canyons with high plateaus and endless sage brush prairie. There are opportunities to hike, spot wildlife or go swimming, boating or fishing. In the evening you may like to play a round of pool or relax in the hot tub under stars.
The accommodation is all provided within the ranch Lodge. In addition to the living areas are five rustic bedrooms with double or twin beds. These are all en-suite with wood stoves or air-conditioning depending on the weather.
The ranch run over 25 head of Parelli trained horses for just 8 guests and staff. When they are not moving cattle to a fresh pasture, they check fences and reservoirs, look for stray stock. In the autumn, they may help neighbours with their gather and drives.
The ranchers serve a full home cooked breakfast and supper, if lunch is not eaten out on the trail, then a lighter lunch is provided. Much of the food is produced on the ranch - assorted meat, or possibly fish and vegetables from the garden.
