Nosy Be is an easily assessable island and is perhaps the most popular area of Madagascar.
Nosy Be has everything you need for a beach holiday on an exotic tropical island. Visitors don’t just go for the gorgeous sandy beaches and the alluring turquoise sea, but also for the diving and fishing opportunities, the ability to island hob over the glorious archipelago and the full range of accommodation.
This island is an excellent family holiday choice, due to the lemur watching in the Lokobe Reserve, the variety of chameleons that call the island home, the scent of vanilla and ylang-ylang and a market abundant with different spices you can buy. You can also visit the island’s sacred lakes, forests and villages in addition to the everyday sun, sea and sand.
Nosy Komba, a few kilometres away from Nosy Be is an gorgeous volcanic island where you can spot Black lemur. Here they roam free in the forests, where coffee is also cultivated. Between the two islands is a cove suitable for snorkelling.
Another island in the Mitsio Archipelago is Nosy Tsarabanjina. This small private island is mountainous, surrounded by white sandy beaches and coral reefs. If you are lucky, you can spot the rare Madagascan fish eagle or the flycatcher.
