Mauritius

Mauritius: Sunshine, rainfall and temperatures can vary considerably in different parts of the island - with the North tending to enjoy an hour more of sunshine than the average for most of the year, and the East - one hour less during 'winter' and the wet 'summer' months. The summer months extend from November to April and the wettest and least settled period is generally January to March, with a risk of cyclonic conditions normally greater in the November/February period. May to October are the 'winter' & generally the driest & sunniest months. Cooling trade winds normally prevail - especially on the East Coast - from June to August, when temperatures are lower than the average shown above (nights can sometimes be surprisingly cool)
