The Maritim, Port Louis
The stylish Maritim was extensively
refurbished and enlarged in 2000, and boasts an especially high
standard of accommodation and service, matched by an inviting
location on the sheltered north west coast. The extensive estate
of "Balaclava" is the setting for the hotel - an area of 25
hectares with historic ruins and a variety of plant and animal life,
all to be discovered on a leisurely walk. Maritim's coastline is
part of the Turtle Bay Marine National Park and provides interesting
waters for snorkellers and divers, while the 500 yard-long
sandy beach is protected by the reef and ideal for safe bathing and
all watersports.
Accommodation: The Maritim provides 147 refurbished Comfort rooms (twin or queensize beds), 29 larger and refurbished Deluxe rooms (double bed), 29 elegant and spacious Prestige rooms, 10 Junior suites and 2 (two-bedroom) Presidential suites. All are located in two wings leading from the main building, in a slightly elevated position with wide sea views.Each is air-conditioned, with bath, shower and wc, telephone, minibar, radio, television and in-house video, hairdryer, safe and balcony or terrace. Suites also have a lounge with dining area. Most rooms will accommodate three beds and Prestige Rooms and Junior suites with a sofabed will accommodate two adults and two children . Suites interconnect with rooms to create two/three-bedroom suites.
