Set
on the banks of the Arno river, in the Florentine Countryside, right

regions. This Medicean villa, only 5 miles from the historical centre
of Florence, was built in the 16th century by the Landini Family,
subsequently owned by the Rinuccinis and the Homberts and home to
several Italian, English and Russian aristocratic families. In 1953 La
Massa was sold to John Goldsmith and once again to the Searl family
transformed it into a Luxory Hotel. Since then many famous guests
enjoyed their stay at Villa La Massa; Clarke Gable, Winston Churchill,
Barbara Hutton, David Niven, Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton just
to name a few; more recently David Bowie and Iaman took over the Villa
