There are about 50 islands that make up the Virgin Islands, some big, some merely rocks jutting out of the clear blue sea. These islands lie approximately 1500 miles south/southeast of the North American coast. The principal islands are St Croix, St John and St Thomas, all of which boast perfect white beaches and crystal waters.
